Gettin' My Lycanthrope On

New Books & Stuff

The Book of Werewolves. Sabine Baring-Gould
This lycanthropy guide from 1865 will no doubt assist me in understanding why I often wake up with scratches, cuts, and other small wounds after a night during which I remember little. And werewolves are cool.

I See A Voice
. Jonathan Ree
A historical narrative of the deaf. Not sure why I bought this one. But it was cheap.

You're Too Kind: A Brief History of Flattery. Richard Stengel
I need to work on my flattery skills. My "game," so to speak. My mad skillz, yo. Represent. How to kiss ass. I'm not too good at faking enthusiasm. Here's to trying.

The Book Lover's Cookbook: Recipes Inspired by Celebrated Works of Literature and the Passages that Inspired Them. Shaunda Kennedy Wenger and Janet Kay Jensen
Okay. This one is a little odd, but I really like the font.

The Pocket Encyclopedia of Aggravation. Laura Lee
While the other Tony stuffs his figurative face (brain?) with French theorists, I read pop-culturey "airplane books." Stuff aggravates me.

Zingerman's Guide to Good Eating. Ari Weinzweig
Food. Duh. Also cheap.

Cubicle Su Doku. Wayne Gould
This is research for the 81 poems project. Seriously.

National Geographic's Guide to the Pacific Northwest. Some National Geographic folks
This is for when I go outside. So I'll know what I'm looking at.

Little Ease. Aaron McCollough
I liked Welkin.

case sensitive. Kate Greenstreet
I like her chapbook, the name of which escapes me right now.

Free T-shirt from the University Bookstore.
Free with the purchase of over $25 in books. It says "Spike the Vikes." Hm.

Jane Magazine.
This issue has Jessica Simpson on the cover. It also promises to teach you how to have sex so good it will keep the neighbors awake.

FUNGI PERFECTI: Gourmet and Medicinal Mushroom Products for Home and Garden, Farm and Forest, People and Planet. (Catalog.)
Now I have NO IDEA why I received this.

Property Line. Joseph Massey.
My mancrush-who-lives-in-a-shack-near-the-northern-California-coast. Beautiful poems. Beautiful book. Thanks, Jess, for publishing this.

The Breaks. Christopher Rizzo.
I haven't read this yet, but if it's anything like other F&F stuff, it's gold.

SONNET. Matt Hart.
This is some of Matt's most engaging work yet. Actually, it reminds me of me.

Between the Room and the City. Erica Bernheim.
More when I've finished this, but Bernheim is a poet to watch.
