Bits

I didn't go to Portland. Greyhound oversold tickets, and I didn't feel like waiting around. Instead, I stayed home and watched the Pistons positively pulverize the puny Lakers. Game 5 tonight!

In one of Emeril's cookbooks, there's a recipe for Goat Cheese and Lentil salad that Emeril, in his headnote, says is "for all you vegetarians." It includes a half-pound of slab bacon.

Mailed off more Canaries today. I think we're mostly done. If you are a Canary contributor but haven't yet received your copy, please let me know. If you're Aaron McCollough, Sabrina Mark, or Aaron Tieger, don't worry--I mailed yours today. Wow, I just typed "married" for "mailed"...amateur psych. folks: what does this mean?

Like Lisa Jarnot, I must admit my fondness for Starbucks coffee. I'm probably going to politically-correct hell (which is probably a lot of fun).

I need to write more poems. Send me ideas.

I'm wearing my ZYZZYVA t-shirt. It's peachy.

I'm still looking for people who want to travel to NYC with me this summer to see Shanna and co. Apply back-channel. Or in the comment box. West coast/Bay area poets especially welcome.

I'm wearing my new haircut!

And if your travelling companion doesn't mind sharing a bunk with you, the futon is a queen. Otherwise we also have a comfy couch in the living room. :)

Lemme know when you're thinking! We'll be gone the first week of August...to a low-tech cabin in Maine. Woohoo.

I'm wearing an Old Navy t-shirt. Icky, I know.

Why not a write a poem about being so convinced you're in love with someone that you can't recognize that everything they say is full of shit?

(Been working on this one for a year or more, not going anywhere).

Aaron,

Today I'm wearing a Pixies shirt.

I like your poem suggestion, but....have you read "Lucky Error"? That's an apt description of about two-thirds of the poems therein. I think I've worn out that idea....

Then can I borrow one? Been trying to get this fucker off the ground, to no avail.

Have you heard the new Pixies song on iTunes?

Haven't heard it yet - my tech is not so hi.

Never mind, I'm listening to it now... hmmmm... it sounds... like the Pixies. I think I like the lyrics. Hm. Dunno.
