Ancho Chile Jam
I learned a very important lesson about following directions. I decided to whip up a batch of Ancho Jam but got impatient. I didn't leave the chiles to soak long enough, per the recipe; my finished product is dotted with leathery chile bits. The flavor is pretty good though: musty-spicy from the chiles, a little sweet from the honey. I feel like freakin' Bobby Flay. But he's got a nicer grill.
