Off to Portland

for the next couple of days. A lot of food events going on. I'm going to try to hit a Lebanese festival. Also, heh, They Might Be Giants and Spice 1 are both playing in Stumptown tonight. Who to see? Gangsta rap or circus music?

I have a painful lump on the left side of my throat. Someone said "lymph node." Is this true? Am I in serious trouble here?

hi darlin. if your lymph nodes are swollen (check both sides of your neck and under your arms for tenderness) you're probably fighting a low-grade infection. i suggest lots of fresh raw garlic and plenty of jalapenos for, respectively, natural antibiotics and tons of vitamin C!

or you could try the "hostile environment theory"®.

Oooh, why didn't I think of mono? That's one of my favorite diagnoses, right behind spinal meningitis.

I'll remove them for you if you'd like.

You'll remove the lump(s)?

Thanks, but it(they) disappeared.

So far. For now.
