Take That, Dirt Hippies!

I've taken the liberty of importing the post below from Julia Covert's non-poetry blog. See, the thing is, I was going to blog on this subject just the other day, but got busy doing something else--either reading Robert Kelly or napping or something. Or I got distracted by "Anonymous."

Anyway, here 'tis.

"I am going on vacation. To Brazil. To personally cut down some rainforest.

So yesterday I was walking out of Starbucks feeling guilty. Across the street from Starbucks is a co-op coffee shop. I would much rather give them my money. Problem is, their coffee sucks. Starbucks is way way better tasting. Plus, you don't have to deal with the condescending looks given by other open-minded judgmental people.

So, as I was leaving Starbucks I visualized myself as such a bad person that I would not just contribute to the destruction of the rainforest by eating beef, etc., but I would actually go down there and do some destroyin' myself. I laughed on my way to my car (because I drove, not biked)."
