Tony & Hannah's Halloween Adventure
I decided to attend a Halloween party. My first in ages. It was interesting, good fun, and a nice change of pace from my usual Saturday stay-at-home-and-watch-"Cheaters" routine. There were a lot of folks there, mostly of the English graduate student variety, dressed in an array of Halloweeny costume goodness. I dressed as myself. I am not a very creative costumer.
I also made some resolutions. Or one. I figure if I'm going to start attending social gatherings, I need to start kissing some girls. The biological clock and all that. I did not kiss many girls last night. Next time, though, I will kiss seven girls. If Erica Kaufmanis there, I will kiss eight. Everyone needs goals. Some people count carbs. I count kissing. Or I will. You'd think that people would be dying to make out with a poet!

This is Carter. He is a very good man, though a bit deranged. I like his friendly way. He threw the party. Behind him is Tamara. Her last date was at a Renaissance Faire.

This is Emily, Carter's domestic partner/former wife. She is dressed as Robert Smith. She and I had a grand time singing Cure songs. It was swell. Emily had to leave the party early, though, to get on a bus to go to a faraway place. She will back soon.

This is Hannah, with whom I went to the party. Hannah is the Composition Lady. She is kinda like my boss, but not really. Here she is dressed as the Campbell's soup kid. I don't know what happened to her spoon. She had one. A big wooden one.

These kids are dressed as Kevin Costner and Robert Downey Jr. One of them is a girl. You'd never know! I think they are discussing eco-criticism or something. Costner once presented a paper at a conference called "Beowulf Sucks: Protovampirism in Old English Narrative Poetry." Just kidding. I'm planning on presenting a conference paper on Olde English Malt Liquor. I once spilled a full beer on Robert Downey Jr.--I was very very embarrased. I think she forgave me.

Fun was had by all. Now I grade papers. Scary Halloweeny papers.
