I just finished providing final comments on research papers ranging in topic from urban renewal and subsidy housing to land reclamation in Zimbabwe, to the ever-popular-with-Eugene-college student topic: Weed. Industrial hemp. Medical chronic. Pot as a lifestyle choice. As a memory enhancer(!) And so forth.

Now? A nice lunch. Holiday shopping with a lady friend.

*

Just received a copy of John Witte's "The Hurtling." It's gorgeous. I might post a review here soon.

*

Also coming soon: Tony's holiday wishlist in the manner of Zach Schomburg.

How did you get Witte's book? Order? Given to? I'd like a copy, but want it signed, etc. Plus, I post these comments because you're phone always kicks over to voice mail on first ring, as I assume you're too busy online posting to this blog. Is this how we must communicate? I am saddened.

My first hunch is to assume that this anonymous posting is Twemlow, but Twem would never type "you're" for "your" and he would certainly never say "I am saddened."

Hmm.

Witte sold me the book for all the money I had in my wallet, which was almost as much as the retail price.

Jetlag? Putrefaction addled by alcohol? Minor chord of dyslexia? Stupidity? "I am saddened" seems very de rigeur. Still, what's the book like?
