Damn, I did a home brew batch of chamomile beer a good while ago, always thought someone should do this. Gives it a nice nose, no? Is it otherwise a pilsner/golden/blonde ale or lager? I'll have to look for this.
Jess
Jess,
It's not available on the shelf, but the guy at the pub said that if they continue to get positive feedback on it, they'll probably bottle it, at least for a limited run.
It's yummy.
Tony
Wit is a really great film—unexpectedly emotional, I think. Emma Thompson's performance is amazing (as always).
So, does chamomile beer make you sleepy, relaxed, AND drunk?
Interesting to see you making the case for an intertextual relationship between The Hurtling and Wit. I had wondered about that, and this confirms my suspicions. Dissertation chapter? As well, fine poem on Verse, today. You are a very good poet.
Why is everyone being so nice to Tony?
As for the beer, I was already a wee bit tipsy when I ordered the pint, AND it was nearly 1 am, so I was already relaxed and sleepy. I'll be going back, though, just for the beer.
The Verse poem is in my new manuscript. The one that isn't quite finished yet. The one that it called "Wintered." Though I'm thinking of calling it "American Winter." or maybe just a section of it will be American winter--there's a series of poems that all end with, or involve an invocation of America, the myth. And there are lots of seasons. Like Ceravolo. Heh.
Anyway, you guys are too kind. Even you, Twemlow.
