Books I Bought Today
Philip Larkin, The Whitsun Weddings
Tony Towle, "Autobiography" and Other Poems
Brenda Shaugnessy, Interior With Sudden Joy
Eileen Myles, School of Fish
Cesar Vallejo, Trilce (tr. Clayton Eshleman)
I've read the Larkin, of course, and remember reading the Shaugnessy a few years back and digging it in all its "gurlesque." The others are new to me. I'm excited. Reports soon.
I also got the new Skein in the mail, courtesty of Seth Parker. It has a rubberband and lobster and a gun on it. It has good poems by Schomburg, Gudding, Vap, and many others.
I also received the new Saveur, the Cheese Issue!
And I bought a very embarrassing book.
"I am an idealistic, naive, passionate, truth-seeking, spiritually motivated artist, unschooled in the science of law and finance." --Wesley Snipes
