Hmmm...


Today’s Eugene Weekly interviews Eddie Spaghetti of the Supersuckers, who has this to say:

I think it’s pretentious for rock bands to say they’re songwriters[.] Give me a break. Maybe you write your words down. Maybe. But is that really songwriting? No. At its best it’s poetry. I prefer to call it song makeruppering, song upmaking.


So kids, is Eddie saying that “poetry” sucks?
