Jordan Davis's Bathrobe

I think I'm down with Jordan about this.

*

Thanks to everyone who answered the bathrobe poll. My suspicions have been confirmed. Apparently (I don't know when this happened) bathrobes are uncool, particularly if you are male and under 30. Nobody under 30 owns a bathrobe except for Betsy Wheeler, who has a ton of them. Most bathrobe-wearers are men in their mid-forties. And me.

Well I knew mine was uncool when I saw "Frazier's dad" where it on tv.

I didn't respond to the poll, but now feel compelled to speak up. I'm under 30 and own a robe. I purchased the robe when I was 17. It is dark green terry on the inside and a softer, velour-like fabric on the outside. It has a hood. I wore it all through college, back and forth to the bathroom, but found little use for it after that. It's currently in my closet.

My boyfriend also owns a robe (he is 30). He has owned it for several years. It is cream. It was a gift from his father, who bought it at the Hard Rock Hotel. He wore it once in public on Halloween to cover up a revealing costume and slammed it in my car door. It dragged on the ground for several miles. It was one of our first dates. He has always regretted not being more careful.

Yeah.. I'm under 30 and I own FOUR robes. (1) white waffle terry cloth; (2) short black satin (my Hugh Hef robe); (3) long black satin w/ flannel liner; (4) flower print silk.

I also have a spare waffle terry cloth for guests.

But I never even try to be cool.

i think robes are practical, refined, and even sexy. I'm a 26 y/o male and me and my robe have been going strong for 2 years! I think it's a shame young men like myself have to hide their passion for bathrobes, cribbage, and CBS for fear of being labeled an old man. who is with me?
