News

New Job: So far, so good. My position, advertised as "Writing Instructor," has turned out to be equal parts counselor, advisor, outreach specialist, and paper shuffler. No actual writing instruction yet. But I've been advised to keep my calendar full; if I don't people will start giving me odd jobs. And I'm on coffee detail in the kitchen as well.

New Neighbors: Haven't met them yet but I have verified the following: they're female, they're extremly loud, they have really poor taste in rap music.

New Blog: The Subscendentalist, which you'll note on the blogroll to your right, is the brainchild of Jeffrey Schultz and Joshua Robbins, U of Oregon MFAers from a few years back. I have signed on as the resident Post-Avant Apologist.

New Attitude: Out with the old, in with the new. Also, trying to be more friendly to my friends and trying to avoid having enemies. (Not that I usually have any--just sayin')

New Pants: I now own four pairs of pants that are hole-free.

Newly Soiled Carpet: the other night I tracked in plenty of mud on my off-white carpet. Bah.

New Friends: a few.

New Office: in a word, Plush.

New Poems: Nope. Not yet. All my muses have flown the coop, leaving me a very lonely sort of bird.

to the best of my knowledge, tony has not yet made coffe in the office kitchen. So far Doug, Carrie and Kim have. but, for the future, I like it strong.
