A fine spring day, today.
During this morning's walk along the north bank of the Willamette river, I encountered a largish black bird (crow? raven?) struggling with a small, shiny, black snake. Bird snaps at snake, snake rears back and tries to look big, bird nips snake, snake shimmies, and finally, bird bites snake squarely and flies off, snake dangling from birdy beak.
Is this a sign? Of something?
