New Poem-like Substance
Song for Alan De Niro
O found, Leonie Adams on the graveled ground
Singe what we can’t keep fold or spindle
That which offends affords a speck of light
Or offers a line of currency limitless ebullient
Minds before us rank us after us (then them)
Frothy & out of print in the way most best girls are
Tense flutter make a coy fire beneath the seat first section
& minor baseball game is a cute diversion
Major league ball more like Poetry living now
Diseased on the shores of the Chicago Ocean laps
You "quintessential host" you may after final
Antiquated rush never alone since G-d laughs
At people like us we take in resemble careen toward dust
Sleep in red final clay chitter through best sad dusk
"I am an idealistic, naive, passionate, truth-seeking, spiritually motivated artist, unschooled in the science of law and finance." --Wesley Snipes
