"I am an idealistic, naive, passionate, truth-seeking, spiritually motivated artist, unschooled in the science of law and finance." --Wesley Snipes

Well, you're my friend.

And can you see?

Last night: Bier Stein. Mike, Audrey, Alan. Good conversation. 3.5 beers.

But even better: four poems yesterday. Four little poems. 36 lines.

Sample title: "Dave Mustaine Changes Lives."

Save me from this darkness. We all know what it means when Tony's writing poems. At least there's no girlfriend to foist this ugliness upon.

I'll be in Eugene briefly next week. Accordingly, I shall seek you out in the hallowed halls of PLC. If I remember to bring it, when I see you, i'll give you a copy of a freshman composition paper i encountered near the end of a long-as-fuck Saturday reading of hundreds of portfolios. The paper is entitled, simply, "Metal." Said 5-page treatise includes such topic sentences as: "Metal saved my life" and "Albert Einstien is metal." The student is not talking about steel or titanium; he or she is talking about Dave Mustaine and Co. It's no doubt on my top-ten-most-brilliant-freshman-comp-essays list.
